Description

An upbeat addition to your mug cupboard, this Swedish-meets-Japanese creation is full of jazzy colour and pattern. We rather like this version but there are all sorts of colours to choose from as well as a choice of two sizers and some with saucers too.

It’s worth noting though that if you do fancy the accompanying saucer, it doesn’t come with it and needs to be purchased separately – definitely worth the investment in our book.

Curator's Note:

“At home, no two mugs of mine are the same and the collection is forever growing. Perhaps it’s time to add one of these stripy tea cups to the family too.” — Katherine

Studio Oyama

Based in Gothenberg on the west coast of Sweden is a small pottery label called Studio Oyama. All of its pieces are the work of Masayoshi Oya who pairs original arts and crafts inspiration from Japan with Swedish influences, favouring graphic glazes and simple shapes. Preferring to hand-work his pieces on the potter’s wheel using porcelain, he then colours each design by hand.
