“The words we both kept using to describe Corazón were nourishing, grounding, freeing. It sounds woo-woo, but we felt completely at one with the place and the people within minutes of arriving. We’ve set it as our place for an annual Pere retreat. For anybody yearning time with nature in a place that feels unhurried all while tapping into their inner hippie (but a hippie that appreciates beautiful design and art), check yourself in." — Sarah
ROOMS
We stayed in the Rosewood room – a comforting space set over two storeys, decorated in soft pink plaster with a bed surrounded by peach drapes. It was almost womb-like. The shower downstairs was sensationally spacious, with privacy guarded by a huge bank of moulded stone. The decor is serene and slightly sensual. There are no TVs; there are views.
SPACES
The terrace is incredible – you can eat here or wherever you like. We typically had dinner here (the food is of course top notch and pivots around the principles of local, seasonal and medicinal. The panzenella and house0made hummus with garden pickles are two musts) or you can order to eat by the pool which is where we had breakfast – there’s a table that perfectly picture frames the boats on the glittering Med that we claimed as our own.
Days are best spent exploring and then kicking back in its secluded Piscina that’s surrounded by cacti and rosemary. Katherine would typically climb into one of its tasselled Mexican hammocks whereas Sarah would be draped over whichever of its 70s-style curbed baby pink sun loungers had the most sun. Each of us with either a lime and turmeric juice or zingy margarita in hand.
This was a place that made us begin to re-map our lives to relocate, even if just for a few months of the year. That’s how special we’re talking.
Set in the Tramuntana Mountains, between magical Deià and Sóller in Mallorca, you arrive into a gentle bohemian paradise where the pace is slow and the ambience warm and welcoming. There is no better greeting than a barefoot, braided soul taking you to a linen and bamboo sofa on a terrace looking over the mountains, iced lemon and ginger welcome drink swiftly placed in your hand, and check-in ready whenever you are.
We took our time. We stroked the resident cat and cat-napped ourselves in the afternoon sun.
